GM fellow Arweaver!
If you read our Year in Review issue, you saw what a massive year 2025 was for people in the permaweb. One standout project that exemplifies what the Arweave ecosystem is all about is Bazar.
Let’s take a look at what the team’s been shipping recently.
Permanent tools for sovereign creators
To say Bazar had a strong 2025 is an understatement. Between countless technical upgrades, broadening their atomic asset offerings, and bringing communities together across multiple channels (both online and offline), Bazar showed it’s the ideal platform for creators on the permaweb.
Following a recent post which highlighted their 2025 successes, we got in touch with Bazar lead El Tío for a quick rundown on what’s been cooking and how creators can mint their first Atomic Asset.
Atomic advantage
For the uninitiated, Bazar is an Atomic Asset marketplace. You could say “NFTs”, but Atomic Assets do so much more, storing the data, metadata, and smart contract logic together as a single unit on Arweave.
Through the Universal Data License, creators can bake royalties and usage rights directly into their files. And with the recent introduction of micro-orderbooks for every asset, Bazar has effectively decentralized the marketplace itself, meaning every asset functions as its own sovereign market.
Uploading a file to create an Atomic Asset is made super simple through the Bazar Studio interface.
Moving beyond images
The NFT boom was a huge catalyst for digital artists, but creativity comes in many forms. Luckily on Bazar, you can upload any type of file, which is great news for niche creator communities.
Key updates last year saw support added for musicians and authors. Specialized rendering and a built-in player allow creators to stream audible Atomic Assets directly on the platform. More recently, Bazar introduced specific metadata tagging for ebooks, enabling native PDF and TXT rendering so readers can consume content without leaving the site.
Zone Profiles
Under the hood, Bazar’s infrastructure is getting a massive upgrade through Zone Profiles, which make user identity more composable and work seamlessly with HyperBEAM nodes.
Zone Profiles allow for permissioned access and delegated actions, where you can allow other wallets or profiles to manage assets or execute messages on your behalf.
Where creativity meets community
One thing that really stood out in 2025 was Bazar’s commitment to empowering permaweb community creators. This is exemplified by the many Permabites meetups which took place across the globe, including events in Nigeria, Germany, the U.S.A., and Saudi Arabia.
The year is off to a flying start following the large Permabites turnout in Xi’an, China, with support from ArtsDAO. Expect more cities, more builders, and more permanent connections as the Permabites movement scales throughout 2026.
Get creative on Bazar
Bazar currently covers the cost of permanent storage for up to 10 MB per asset, making this an ideal time to get creative on the permaweb.
