Last week Bazar announced the migration to "hyper-profiles", Beacon Wallet dropped their 1.5 release, and RandAO announced an integration for their nodes.
Plus: lots of events leading up to Arweave Day India this Saturday. Don't miss it!
Let's get into it.
Bazar begins migration to hyper-profiles ๐
Bazar, Arweave and AO's largest Atomic Asset marketplace, recently announced their migration to "hyper-profiles". Users can migrate their profiles and accompanied assets and listings to AO's HyperBEAM. But what does this mean?
AO has been working on new node software called HyperBEAM, which powers nodes running on the AO protocol. This a big deal, because Bazar's hyper-profiles mark the first step towards their full migration to HyperBEAM.
They're working on migrating their entire content marketplace to HyperBEAM, and utilizing AO's parallel execution to create "micro orderbooks". This is exciting, as it aims to use different processes in parallel to run what would be a large scale, single application.
Think about other blockchains: NFT orders would sit in blocks, waiting to be processed - even if they are unrelated. With AO and HyperBEAM, it's possible for two orders to take place in parallel. Scalability!
Beacon Wallet 1.5 launches ๐
Beacon Wallet is an iOS native mobile wallet for Arweave and AO.
They recently released their 1.5 update which includes an in-app explorer, an interface for the $PI token, and support for Keystone hardware wallets.
The in-app explorer is definitely an interesting addition, and great for UX. Users can now view exactly what is happening with their transaction without needing to leave the application, which creates a more complete experience.
Likewise, Keystone is a hardware wallet which is well supported across the Arweave ecosystem so it's great to see it get further support in new Arweave and AO infrastructure.
The Beacon Wallet team are also in India this week for the upcoming Hacker House and the Arweave Day India event itself.
We're looking forward to seeing what Beacon Wallet build next. Check out their full release thread here.
RandAO node integration with AR.IO ๐
RandAO is a decentralized VRF protocol utilizing AO to provide dApps with randomness.
RandAO recently announced their plans to integrate AR.IO gateways, which act as a "front door" to Arweave content, with their own ecosystem. There isn't too much public information on what this entails yet, but it sparks an interesting trend.
Arweave and AO is a quite modular ecosystem - there are different nodes for Arweave, gateways, AO, and other projects, too. A lot of node runners may want to run many (or all) nodes in the ecosystem to increase decentralization and up their participation.
Managing software for each node or network can be complex, so a tighter integration between RandAO and AR.IO could provide better opportunities and incentives for node runners across the ecosystem. Something to think about.
