Welcome to this week's Arweave Weekly Digest, where we give you the biggest updates in the Arweave and AO ecosystem over the last week.
This week saw ArFleet officially announced on Twitter, DeveloperDAO launching their own Arweave gateway, Sam Williams (Arweave founder) doing the rounds on some podcasts, and more.
Let's get into it.
💾 Temporary Storage comes to AO
Arweave is known among other blockchains for its mission to provide permanent storage.
The initial cost paid by a user is for 200 years of storage and 20 replicas (minimum), with mechanisms for this to last much longer.
However, while some data needs to be stored permanently - not all data does. Sometimes ephemeral is good. This is what ArFleet does.
ArFleet is a temporary storage mechanism built on AO, launching on 29th August. If you want to join the launch event and possibly get a spot in the testnet, go to the Luma link here.
🌐 DeveloperDAO joins the permaweb
Developer DAO has been involved in the Arweave ecosystem, such as building educational courses in partnership with AR.IO.
Developer DAO have launched their own Arweave gateway thanks to AR.IO to help serve and index decentralized data. You can also stake testnet tokens to their gateway node. NFA.
🎙️ Sam Williams features on major crypto podcasts
Sam Williams, founder of Arweave, has recently been doing the rounds on some big podcasts including The Charlie Shrem Show and Crypto Banter.
These episodes give a lot of insight into the history of Arweave and mission of AO and the permaweb. If you're a newcomer to the ecosystem or a seasoned veteran, there's lots to learn by checking them out.
