GM!
Last week, ArDrive had their biggest month yet for Turbo uploads, and the buildathon leading up to Arweave Day India kicked off. There was also the confirmation of a special guest for the event.
Let's get into it.
ArDrive Turbo uploads increased by 25% 🐘
Last week, AR.IO announced that their ArDrive Turbo bundler had uploaded over 20TiB of data to Arweave in March. Bundlers on Arweave help group transactions together and post them to mainnet, which increases throughput.
As mentioned in their post, various different networks are using ArDrive Turbo to store data on Arweave - RedStone, KYVE, and AO itself.
This is an interesting trend, as it shows how Arweave is storing tremendous amounts of data related to blockchains, not just the traditional things that come to mind when thinking about storage (e.g. images or videos).
Arweave India buildathon takes place 🛠️
Arweave India kicked off a buildathon last Monday, marking the start of an online sprint to hack on AO and Arweave projects leading up to Arweave Day India.
Something worth highlighting in the buildathon is that there were challenges or pathways for both developers and marketers.
Hackathons typically focus solely on coding, and miss out on what great communication and design can bring to the table for projects as well. It's awesome to see variety in the challenges available for participants.
Many popular AO projects have spun out of events from Arweave India, including 0rbit (which was acquired by Forward Research), and BetterIDEa. It's always worth keeping an eye on the events even if you don't take part!
Submissions closed last week, and builders have a chance to progress to the Arweave India Hacker House, and even onwards to the Arweave India Day event itself.
