AO mainnet imminent, ecosystem expansion stays strong

GM!

This has been a busy week on the Permaweb - we're less than a week out from AO's mainnet launch, among other events including new partnerships, and big storage milestones.

Let's get into it.

Five days until AO mainnet 💻

It's hard to think that an entire year has almost gone by since AO's initial testnet release. Since then, almost 100,000 $stETH has been bridged (as well as 175M $DAI), over 3,000 processes (smart contracts) have been launched on AO, and over 1.5B messages have been sent.

This also comes as Arweave itself has surpassed over 14 billion pieces of data stored, as Sam Williams put it, which is another massive milestone. KYVE is a large contributor to these numbers, who recently hit the 10TB (yes, TB) mark for storing blockchain data on Arweave. The Permaweb is versatile. 😎

FusionFi also announced a new architecture for DeFi settlements, which will likely help with scaling ahead of mainnet.

A big part of AO is that processes can run in parallel, rather than necessarily competing for blockspace like in traditional blockchains.

So why not split apart a dApp to operate with multiple processes in parallel?

This is exactly what FusionFi and other teams in the ecosystem are working towards - and is a truly awesome way to think about building applications on AO.
