GM!

Welcome to this week's Arweave Weekly Digest, where we talk about all the happenings in the Arweave and AO ecosystem this week.

This week brought another huge milestone for AO, big volumes and upgrades for BazAR, and more.

Let's get into it.

Weekly Digest

💻 AO hits 400M messages

It seems that almost every week there's a new milestone being hit by AO, and this week it was 400 million messages - or transactions sent to smart contracts on AO.

400M messages on AO also means 400 million transactions sent (and stored) on Arweave, and adoption seems to be continuing to grow thanks to new dApps appearing in the AO landscape.

LlamaLand, DumDumz, and the Reality Protocol quests (which we covered last week), are likely some of the contributing factors to the continued usage of AO.

NFA.

🛒 BazAR achieves 2nd place in NFT marketplace buyers

Although NFTs aren't quite as popular as they used to be, a new collection, DumDumz, launched on Arweave (and AO's) signature atomic asset marketplace, (BazAR), and has attracted attention to Arweave and AO.

BazAR had the 2nd most buyers of any NFT marketplace on 29th July, 2024 according to the AO team on X/Twitter.

Atomic Assets on Arweave have built-in rights with the Universal Data License (UDL).

BazAR also launched a new activity tab for users this week as well.

The "shortest domain name in web3 history" goes live

Text reads "ar.io" with the ar.io logo next to it.

AR.IO Network, the builders behind gateway nodes and other infrastructure which powers the Permaweb, announced that the ar.io domain can now be used to access content stored on Arweave using an ARNS name.

If you want to give it a try, you can head to docs.ar.io, sam.ar.io, dexi.ar.io, cookbook.ar.io, or any other website with an ARNS name.

These websites are stored on Arweave, indexed and served by a decentralized gateway network, and can be accessed just like any normal website.

Awesome.

0xTomo, founder of WeaveDB, has launched an experimental note creator on AO.

Users can create editable notes which are atomic assets, and has features such as version control, the UDL, and compatibility with BazAR. Tradable notes with real-world rights.
